I chose to stay at Yatsusankan because of its close proximity to Hida Furukawa Old Town. I wanted to explore the historic streets and traditional houses in the area, and this hotel was the perfect choice for that. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the complimentary newspapers in the lobby and the convenient luggage storage facility. The authentic Japanese dinner served at the hotel's private dining area, featuring Hida beef and local produce, was also a delightful highlight.
Comfort and service come at a cost.

Terrific amenities, great and beautiful setting.
Location just off a different garden and Toyama. A wide array of excellent food for meals.

The private hot spring baths were a delight, I felt like a fancy mermaid. The library was my personal sanctuary, where I learned all about the ancient art of napping. The hotel staff were so attentive, they practically read my mind.
The dry cleaning/laundry service was a bit disappointing, I mean, who wants clean clothes anyway?

Comfortable rooms with thoughtful touches like air conditioning and free stocked minibars. The room felt cozy, like a warm fireplace on a cold winter night.
Western breakfast not on par with the high standard of the Japanese one. Just a minor hiccup in an otherwise delightful stay.

The hot spring baths were heavenly, especially the private one. The library was so exciting, I couldn't put a book down! And the dry cleaning service? 10/10, they made my designer kimonos look brand new!
Oh, I didn't like that the hotel was too close to the charming town. Who wants to be surrounded by sleepy, picturesque streets?

Loved Hida, the hotel was ideal in the hills of Japan. I was offered a room with exceptionally good views of the mountains and river. All the staff was very friendly and exceptionally attentive, tackled my issues. The venue has quiet location close to a wonderful Japanese garden, carp filled canals, and the nearby river bank where line of cherry blossoms trees are lit up by light.
Tbh, rooms were quite bad.

I chose this hotel for a work consultation as they provide Half Board rates. The facilities, including the traditional Japanese room and the private and public hot spring baths, were all excellent. The service from the staff was top-notch, from check-in to check-out.
The only service I missed for my work was the availability of a business center or meeting room.

I had the most incredible experience at a beautiful ryokan in a quiet town. The onsen bath was absolutely fantastic, especially the outdoor baths with the roses. The meals they served were the best I had during my entire trip. The staff were so friendly and provided exceptional service, even assisting me with arranging a last-minute rental car. The view from my room overlooking the river and temple was breathtaking. I truly had an unbelievably good stay at this ryokan and I would definitely stay there again on my next trip. I highly recommend this hotel for an unforgettable and luxurious ryokan experience.

I had the pleasure of spending New Year’s Eve at a ryokan in a quiet little town, nestled in the hills of Japan. The traditional Japanese setting of the ryokan was absolutely beautiful and provided stunning views of the snow-capped mountains from my room. The highlight of the stay was definitely the outdoor hot spring bath, which was simply breathtaking. It was incredibly refreshing to soak in the mineral-rich water and take in the peaceful ambiance of the natural surroundings.
Although the prices were quite high, the quantity and taste of the food offered during the meals were a bit of a disappointment. It felt like the quality of the meals didn't match the cost of the ryokan stay.

I chose this hotel for attending a session because it provides Half Board rates, which suited my schedule perfectly. The location was convenient, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The traditional ryokan atmosphere and beautiful surroundings added to the overall experience. The food was exceptional, and the private onsen was a great way to relax after a long day. I felt like I was truly experiencing Japanese culture during my stay.
The only service I missed for my work was a dedicated workspace or business center. Although the hotel provided a peaceful and serene environment, it would have been helpful to have a designated area for work-related tasks.
